SUMMARY:XXI edition Certamen Latinum "Giuseppe Carboni"
DESCRIPTION:The Municipality of Ortezzano\, under the patronage of the Legislative Assembly of the Marche Region\, the Cassa di Risparmio di Fermo Foundation\, the Province of Fermo\, the University of Macerata\, the Italian Association of Classical Culture\, Marca Fermana\, the Ecomuseum of the Aso Valley\, Pro Loco of Ortezzano\, and Casa Editrice Sanoma\, announces the 21st edition of the CERTAMEN LATINUM on 17 and 18 April 2026. The competition is open to students of secondary schools in Italy and other European Union countries who wish to study Latin. \nThe Certamen is held in honor of the Latin scholar originally from Ortezzano\, Prof. Giuseppe Carboni (1856-1929)\, author\, together with Prof. G. Campanini\, of the famous Latin dictionary “Campanini-Carboni”\, which entire generations of high school students have studied and still study. \nThe aim of the Certamen is to celebrate the importance of the Latin language and culture by promoting the study of Latin as a shared cultural heritage of Italy and Europe and as a tool for aggregation\, contact\, and national and international collaboration between students and teachers of Italian and European secondary schools where Latin is studied.

DESCRIPTION:The Municipality of Ortezzano is pleased to invite citizens and visitors to the opening of the Ortezzano Time Museum\, a new exhibition space dedicated to the history of timekeeping and the area’s watchmaking tradition. \nThe event will be held on Saturday\, March 21\, 2026 at 5 p.m. in Umberto I Square and is an important moment for the cultural enhancement of the village and for Ortezzano’s entry into the circuit of the “Cities of Time of the Marche.” \nThe museum brings together evidence\, instruments and installations that tell the story of the evolution of time measurement systems\, from sundials to ancient clockwork mechanisms\, offering visitors a fascinating journey through science\, technology and history. \nSpeeches are scheduled during the opening ceremony by: \n\n\nProf. Carla Piermarini\, Mayor of Ortezzano \n\n\nEng.
