Agriturismo Villa Vicini
Karin and Marin, originally from the Netherlands, chose to pursue their lifelong dream in Italy after 18 years in Rotterdam. They moved to Ortezzano, in the picturesque Aso Valley. They had been spending time in Cupra Marittima, where Marin’s parents have a vacation home, and in 2017 they got married there— further strengthening their desire to settle permanently in the Marche region. After three years of searching and more than 30 houses, they found their ideal villa in Ortezzano, a village overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the surrounding hills.
This is how Agriturismo Villa Vicini came to life. Open year-round, it now boasts an ever-deepening connection to the land, nurtured through grape and olive harvests, and strengthened by new friendships with guests. The property covers five hectares with vineyard, olive grove and fruit trees. It is equipped with spaces for campers and caravans and offers two spacious family apartments and six glamping tents. The installation of a Geodome tent is also planned.
Guests can enjoy authentic experiences such as participating in the grape harvest in September or the olive harvest in October, tasting genuine zero-mile products, exploring nearby villages like Monte Rinaldo, Montalto delle Marche, and Petritoli, or visiting art cities such as Fermo, Offida, and Ascoli Piceno.
Just 30 minutes away are both the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains National Park—ideal for trekking and outdoor activities.
Thanks to a partnership with WRBikes, the agritourism offers e-mountain bike rentals, allowing guests to explore scenic routes through hills and vineyards. Making the experience even more special are dinners organized with chef Nadia, who prepares traditional dishes with local ingredients, often sourced from the vegetable garden. The evenings turn into convivial moments under the Italian sky, accompanied by home-produced wines such as Passerina, Rosso Piceno, Pecorino, Falerio and Rosato. Nadia also offers cooking workshops on fresh pasta, tiramisù and Ascolana olives.
Agriturismo Villa Vicini is a place to rediscover the true essence of Italy: nature, authentic hospitality, genuine flavors, and the slow pace of rural life. Karin and Marin enthusiastically share what they call Italy’s “best-kept secret”: the beauty of the Marche region, with Ortezzano at the heart of their new life and as a place of hospitality welcoming guests from around the world.
